Baseball Recap: Baylor Beats Silverdale Academy for Their Ninth Straight Victory

Baylor came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Silverdale Academy Seahawks by a score of 8-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Levi Fraley looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mac Morris was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Rylan Jessee, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Baylor's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Silverdale Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baylor will host Boyd-Buchanan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silverdale Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Webb School at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Feet have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
