Softball Recap: Winfield Wins Going Away Against North

Winfield won the last time they faced North and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings blew past the RedHawks 24-12. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Brooklynn Mortimer was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, five stolen bases, and eight RBI. Emma DeLong was another key player, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Winfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 24 hits. They got seven more hits than North's also-impressive total of 17.

Winfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for North, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Winfield will venture away from home to challenge Mulvane at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for North, they will challenge Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
