Basketball Recap: Erie-Mason Comes Up Short

After soaring to 66 points the game before, Erie-Mason was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were dealt a 63-29 loss at the hands of the Summerfield Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 98th).

Erie-Mason has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Summerfield, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Erie-Mason will venture away from home to square off against Britton Deerfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Britton Deerfield's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests. As for Summerfield, they will host Trillium Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Summerfield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matches -- so hopefully Trillium Academy likes a good challenge.
