Soccer Recap: Parkland Takes a Loss

Parkland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the El Dorado Aztecs. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Aztecs are ranked 60th).

Esteban Ibarra-Carrillo and Yahil Emilio Torres Diaz scored both of Parkland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for El Dorado, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Parkland wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Americas on the 12th. As for El Dorado, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Hanks on the 12th.
