Football Game Preview: Milford Mavericks vs. Lakeland Eagles + How To Watch

Milford hasn't had much luck against Lakeland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mavericks will head out to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Milford got the win against Walled Lake Central by a conclusive 41-19. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakeland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mott on Friday, sneaking past 23-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted against the Corsairs since August 31, 2017.

Lakeland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.0 points over those games. As for Milford, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Milford didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lakeland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 35-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
