Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Cougars vs. Mapleton Mounties

The Crestview Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Mapleton Mounties at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Thursday, Crestview took their contest with ease, bagging a 52-17 win over Crestline. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mapleton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Black River, posting a 48-6 victory. The matchup marked the Mounties' most dominant win of the season.

Crestview has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Mapleton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Crestview didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mapleton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crestview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
