Basketball Recap: Ragsdale Drops Highest Score of Season Against Western Guilford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ragsdale). They really took it to the Western Guilford Hornets for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-43 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Ragsdale was led to victory by Aaliya Boddie and Brooke Parker. Boddie went 8 of 14 on her way to 24 points, while Parker went 5 for 12 en route to 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. With that strong performance, Parker is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Mya Boddie, who posted 11 points and eight assists.

Ragsdale was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Guilford only posted two assists.

When it comes to explaining why Western Guilford lost on Friday, don't look at Leila Henderson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 32 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Henderson has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Reese Miga, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Ragsdale and bumps their season record up to 10-6. As for Western Guilford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Ragsdale has already played their next game, a 44-42 defeat against Northern Guilford on the 24th. As for Western Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-39 loss against Northwest Guilford on the 24th.
