Baseball Recap: Cactus Comes Up Short

If Cactus was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Westview on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cobras came up short against the Estrella Foothills Wolves on Monday, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Cobras in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cactus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Marrufo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Marrufo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Cactus' loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Estrella Foothills, their victory was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5.

Looking ahead, Cactus will head out on the road to face off against Peoria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Estrella Foothills will be paying especially close attention to the Cobras' game: after the Cobras face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Estrella Foothills again at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
