The Bardstown Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Shelby County Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Bardstown was able to grind out a solid win over Fort Knox, taking the game 5-1. That four run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.
Brazen Harman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Lucas Kiser was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Landen Snellen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bardstown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Shelby County can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Spencer County by a score of 7-2.
Like Bardstown, Shelby County also got a great game from a two-way player: Foster Whisman. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Whisman is becoming a predictor of Shelby County's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 8-16 when he doesn't). Whisman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Shelby County let Caleb Cook and Isaac Voight run wild. Cook went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double, while Voight went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Voight has become a key player for Shelby County: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-16 otherwise.
Bardstown's record now sits at 3-15-1. As for Shelby County, their record is now 10-17.
Bardstown came up short against Shelby County in their previous meeting back in March, falling 7-3. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
