Baseball Recap: Grayson County's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grayson County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Giles Spartans. The Blue Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Makray Goad made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. Goad was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Troy Stockner was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Zach Weatherman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

Grayson County's record is now 3-0. As for Giles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Coming up, Grayson County will venture away from home to challenge Bland County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Giles, they will welcome Eastern Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
