Basketball Recap: Sitterud Porter Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northridge

Emery saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against the Northridge Knights by a score of 67-60. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Emery's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sitterud Porter led the charge by going 8-for-19 en route to 29 points and three steals. Porter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Brek, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Emery's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Northridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Looking ahead, Emery will host San Juan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northridge, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Salem Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will be up against the Skyhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 68 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
