Basketball Recap: Elizabeth's Loss Ends 19-Game Winning Streak at Home

On Tuesday, Elizabeth faced Union Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Elizabeth Minutemen fell to the Union Catholic Vikings 58-52. It was the first time this season that the Minutemen let down their fans at home.

Elizabeth's defeat ended a 19-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4. As for Union Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

When Elizabeth and Union Catholic next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Elizabeth will try to stop Atlantic City's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elizabeth will be looking to keep their 19-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Meanwhile, Union Catholic will face off against Plainfield and their 16-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
