Volleyball Recap: Lincoln-Way East Takes a Loss

Lincoln-Way East was the 2-0 winner over Waubonsie Valley when they last played one another back in August of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Griffins fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Lincoln-Way East still got an impressive performance from Charlotte Buck, who had 13 digs and two assists. Buck has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Maggie Simon also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Lincoln-Way East's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Waubonsie Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Lincoln-Way East and Waubonsie Valley will both be playing Lemont the next time they take the court. The Griffins will head out to face the Lemont HS at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
