Game recap: Sumner High School Football Team wins against Clover Park

LAKEWOOD, Wash. - Sumner (Wash.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 14 fourth quarter points to seal the 35-6 victory over Clover Park (Lakewood, Wash.).

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Branden Tuilaepa in the first quarter, the Spartans led 14-6 at the half.

Sumner grew its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Tuilaepa.

Tuilaepa and DeJon Lynch ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Warriors. Tuilaepa scored two touchdowns on the ground and Lynch added two as well.

Clover Park's only touchdown came on a 3-yard run in the second quarter.



The Spartans got revenge for last year's 25-14 loss to Clover Park with the victory.

With the win Sumner extended its winning streak to four games.

Clover Park (2-2) will play a 2A South Puget Sound game against Orting next week, while Sumner (4-0) will take on Franklin Pierce also in a 2A South Puget Sound game.
