Volleyball Recap: East Nicolaus' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

East Nicolaus waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Calaveras Red Hawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

Lela DeCecco paced East Nicolaus' offense, picking up six kills. DeCecco got some help from Shelby Scoggins and her 20 assists. Makinze Massey controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

East Nicolaus' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Calaveras, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

East Nicolaus has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Quincy on the 23rd. As for Calaveras, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lodi at 6:30 p.m. on September 4.
