Softball Recap: Lexington Tigers vs. Stewarts Creek Red Hawks
Lexington lost to Stewarts Creek last Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers fell 7-4 to the Red Hawks.
Brooklin Maness and Madison Stegall did some serious damage despite the final result: Maness went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Stegall went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Lynley White also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Stewarts Creek, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Coming up, Lexington is taking a road trip to square off against Tri-West Hendricks at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Stewarts Creek, they will host Smyrna at 5:00 p.m. on the 9th.
