Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Benet Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waubonsie Valley Warriors. The Redwings' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waubonsie Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danyella Mporokoso, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Mporokoso's fourth in a row with at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Arianna Garcia, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Benet Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 29-3. As for Waubonsie Valley, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 31-1.

Benet Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waubonsie Valley, they will challenge Alton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
