Basketball Recap: Curtis Baptist Takes a Loss

Curtis Baptist extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 4-5. They took a blow against the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets, falling 71-25. The contest marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Curtis Baptist saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Husband dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. The Crusaders are 2-1 when Husband posts ten or more boards, but 2-4 otherwise.

As for Aiken, their record is now 5-2. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aiken to victory, but perhaps none more so than Armani Jones, who shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Julian Graham, who posted nine points.

Curtis Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-39 win against Victory Christian on the 8th. As for Aiken, they have also already played their next game, an 80-56 victory against Batesburg-Leesville on the 8th.
