Basketball Recap: Orrville Has No Trouble Against Aquinas

Orrville posted their biggest victory since November 27, 2024 on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Aquinas Knights as the Orrville Red Riders made off with a 56-30 win. The Red Riders didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Ward, who posted 13 points and four steals. Ward is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Giammarco, who put up eight points.

Orrville's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Aquinas, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Orrville will square off against Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they will face off against Open Door Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
