Recap: Marian Mustangs vs. Imlay City Spartans
The Marian Mustangs gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Imlay City by a score of 57-44. For Marian, this counts as revenge for the 46-40 loss Imlay City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Marian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenley Reid, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Molly McLeod was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Marian's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Imlay City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marian will take on Lutheran Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Imlay City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bad Axe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
