Softball Recap: West Muskingum Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

West Muskingum saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Sandy Valley Cardinals by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tornadoes.

Kadie Bare spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Gabbi Hammer and Daylee Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Hammer went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Foster went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Foster has posted since back in March. Addy Antonetz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

West Muskingum pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sandy Valley, they moved to 14-7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

West Muskingum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sandy Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Indian Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight.
