Central Davidson entered their tilt with Providence Grove on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly three runs.

Central Davidson pushed their record up to 4-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Providence Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Davidson will venture away from home to square off against North Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Davidson's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Central Davidson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
