Alek Harris and Dalton Pop provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Metro-East Lutheran. The connection went for eight yards, the longest such play in Prairie State this season.
Marquette Catholic was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Explorers defeated East Alton-Wood River 49-32 earlier in the week.
Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Luke Hamlin threw for 138 and four touchdowns and Devon Wright had 64 yards receiving. On the ground Austin Chausse chipped in 92 yards. Gabe Boston helped Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood's passing attack out by catching one ball for 32 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Hamlin and Chausse the Redskins have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Hamlin leads the league in passing with 447 yards, while Chausse has rushed for 613 yards this season. South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's Pop leads the league in receiving yards with 164 on nine catches.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood takes on Marquette Catholic. The Redskins have allowed 63 points this season, while Tim Nelson's team has given up 96. Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood allowed 6 points last week as it bested Bunker Hill.
The Redskins moved up to 315 from 353 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 54-6 win over the Minutemen helped Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood improve its standing.
