Recap: Edwards-Knox Cougars vs. Morristown Central Rockets
The Edwards-Knox Cougars were the 77-70 winner over the Morristown Central Rockets when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Edwards-Knox took a hard 63-47 fall against Morristown Central on Monday. Edwards-Knox's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson Matthews, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Allen, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Edwards-Knox bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Morristown Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Edwards-Knox will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lisbon Central at 7:15 p.m. Morristown Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Copenhagen at 3:30 p.m. on December 22nd.
