Central Cabarrus hadn't done well against West Rowan recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings walked away with a 50-39 win over the West Rowan Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-32 back in January.

It was another big night for Daniyah Burton, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Felicity Arevalo was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Central Cabarrus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Central Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for West Rowan, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-20.

Central Cabarrus and West Rowan could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Central Cabarrus (ranked 346th) will meet Robinson (ranked 112th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, West Rowan will face off against East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 389 places (555 vs. 166).
