Basketball Recap: Monroe County Takes a Loss

Monroe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the T.R. Miller Tigers 65-25. While losing is never fun, Monroe County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while T.R. Miller is ranked 59th).

T.R. Miller had a senior duo take command as Meg Fountain posted 17 points and Lyrik Hails put up 15 points. Another player making a difference was Natasia Reed, who earned eight points.

Monroe County's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for T.R. Miller, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Monroe County Tigers challenge the Excel Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. T.R. Miller has already played their next match, a 62-20 win against Hillcrest on the 7th.
