Somerset's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lytle Pirates 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won nine in a row.

Somerset took Lytle into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-9, 12-25, 15-25, 15-13.

Ellyanna Munoz paced Somerset's offense, picking up 13 kills. Munoz got some help from Jasira Jones and her 32 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Lytle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
