Soccer Game Preview: Rosemead vs. South El Monte

Rosemead and South El Monte are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2020, but likely not for long. The Rosemead Panthers will square off against the South El Monte Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Rosemead managed to keep up with El Monte until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Rosemead came up short against El Monte, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, South El Monte kept a clean sheet against Marshall on Tuesday. They blew past the Eagles 3-0. South El Monte might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Marshall with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Daniel Aguilar, Cristian Nunez, and Fabricio Ocampo.

South El Monte has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four contests. As for Rosemead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-4.

Rosemead came up short against South El Monte in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Rosemead avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
