Softball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Earlville hit Hiawatha with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 8-1. The Hawks have struggled against the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Hiawatha saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Molloy, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Hiawatha's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Earlville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hiawatha will square off against Harvest Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Earlville, they will be playing at home against Sandwich at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
