Softball Recap: Westfield Comes Up Short

Westfield came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Herndon Hornets by a score of 11-9 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since April 10, 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Westfield and nudges their season record down to 7-5-1. As for Herndon, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Coming up, Herndon will take on Yorktown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. Westfield will be paying especially close attention to Herndon's contest: after Herndon faces off against George C. Marshall, they'll take on Westfield again at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
