Recap: Valley Falls Dragons vs. Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens
If the Valley Falls Dragons were feeling good off their 66-16 takedown of the McLouth Bulldogs last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valley Falls took a hard 45-31 fall against Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley Falls has scored all season.
Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Korie Kirkwood, who scored ten points. Gracie Conner was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Valley Falls dropped their record down to 6-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Falls will take on Atchison County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Valley Falls is ranked 255th, while Atchison County is ranked 271st). As for Atchison-Maur Hill-Mount Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Valley Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
