Softball Game Preview: Red Hook Raiders vs. Marlboro Central Dukes

Red Hook is 2-8 against Marlboro Central since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Raiders are taking a road trip to face off against the Dukes at 4:15 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Red Hook is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 21-11 win on Monday.

Meanwhile, Marlboro Central strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Spackenkill get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The match marked the Dukes' most dominant win of the season so far.

Marlboro Central's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Red Hook, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Red Hook might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Marlboro Central in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
