Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Donahue Catholic

Donahue Catholic extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Isaac Loboda. The Donahue Catholic Shamrocks put the hurt on the Marathon Dolphins with a sharp 76-53 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Loboda, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 26 points and seven assists. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Max Allen, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Marathon saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jack Chapman went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points. Andrew Suarez was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Donahue Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.6 points per game. As for Marathon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Donahue Catholic will host The Village School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marathon will take on Doctors Charter in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
