Basketball Recap: Choctaw County Takes Down Mantachie in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Choctaw County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-44 win over the Mantachie Mustangs. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Caleb Cunningham, who posted 24 points. The matchup was his 12th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jayvion Lowery, who put up 12 points.

Choctaw County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points over those games. As for Mantachie, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Coming up, Choctaw County will challenge Edwards at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Edwards will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Choctaw County surely won't give up without a fight. Mantachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
