Basketball Recap: Thad Shuler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grace Christian over Oaks

Grace Christian lost against Oaks back in October and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crusader took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mighty Oaks. The Crusader have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Crusader players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thad Shuler, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Shuler is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zechariah Griffith, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Oaks can attribute much of their success to Mike Carter, who earned 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Shabo, who scored ten points.

Grace Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Oaks, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Grace Christian will square off against The Rock Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oaks, they will take on Springwood at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mighty Oaks will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
