Baseball Recap: West Shore Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

West Shore Christian Academy came into Thursday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Alliance Christian Gryphons on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for West Shore Christian Academy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

David Grieb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for West Shore Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Locker, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Nathan Severs was another key player, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The win got West Shore Christian Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Alliance Christian, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, West Shore Christian Academy will square off against Lancaster County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alliance Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Valley Forge Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gryphons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
