Basketball Recap: East Carteret's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road + How To Watch

East Carteret had lost six games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-4 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They managed a 70-65 win over The Epiphany School of Global Studies Falcons. With that victory, the Mariners brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Carteret to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Roberson, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Roberson has posted since back in January. Eli Jenkins also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

East Carteret smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

As for The Epiphany School of Global Studies, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. Even if they couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

The Epiphany School of Global Studies lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ben Fitzgerald, who put up 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Lathan, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 11 points.

East Carteret wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 56-37 defeat against Jacksonville on the 17th. As for The Epiphany School of Global Studies, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
