Baseball Recap: Branson Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Branson and Terra Linda have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Bulls walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Trojans. For the Bulls, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Mo Jacoby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Jacoby was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Grayson Roberts looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Branson is 2-1 when Roberts allows one or fewer hits, but 6-10 otherwise.

Jacoby wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tom Lardner, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double. Another was Holden Cane, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Branson's record now sits at 8-11. As for Terra Linda, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.

Branson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
