Flag Football Recap: Mater Dei Comes Up Short

Mater Dei faced JSerra Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Monarchs took a blow against the Lions, falling 35-7. Having soared to a lofty 43 points in the game before, the Monarchs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for JSerra Catholic, they pushed their record up to 21-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mater Dei is set to challenge their familiar foe Orange Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Kendra Hansen and Makena Cook. Meanwhile, JSerra Catholic will take on rival Santa Margarita at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 5.7, the Eagles 11.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
