Softball Game Preview: Greenup County Musketeers vs. Raceland Rams

The Greenup County Musketeers will venture away from home to square off against the Raceland Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Greenup County's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Portsmouth 10-0. The victory was nothing new for the Musketeers as they're now sitting on six straight.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Raceland and Russell have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Rams put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 11-0 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Carly Fannin was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Shelby Gauze was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Raceland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive games.

Raceland's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Greenup County, their record now sits at 13-1.
