Basketball Game Preview: Etowah Blue Devils vs. Hokes Bluff Eagles

The Etowah Blue Devils will square off against the Hokes Bluff Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Monday, Etowah came up short against Oneonta and fell 32-21. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Redskins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Hokes Bluff came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 45-33.

Hokes Bluff is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Etowah, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Etowah came up short against Hokes Bluff in their previous matchup back in November of 2014, falling 40-30. Can Etowah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
