Recap: Dixie Flyers vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves
After a string of five wins, the Dixie Flyers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to San Ramon Valley. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dixie came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Utah, while San Ramon Valley is ranked 31st in California).
Dixie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle Lemke, who scored 23 points. The game was Lemke's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Weidauer, who scored 17 points.
Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for San Ramon Valley, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie and Hurricane will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hurricane is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for San Ramon Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Berkeley at 7:00 p.m.
