On Friday, Hiawatha was beaten by Yorkville Christian 84-48. Hiawatha has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Yorkville Christian to victory were Zach Marini and Jayden Riley. Marini scored 26 points along with five rebounds, while Riley scored 27 points along with five assists. The match was Riley's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tray Alford, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Hiawatha's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-13. As for Yorkville Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hiawatha's road trip will continue as they head out to face LaMoille at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
