Soccer Game Preview: Westfield vs. South Lakes

The Westfield Bulldogs will head out to square off against the South Lakes Seahawks at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Westfield will be strutting in after a win while South Lakes will be coming in after a loss.

While Westfield's victory against Centreville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Wildcats on Thursday. The result kept Westfield happy, as they haven't lost a game since March 25th.

Meanwhile, South Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakton. While losing is never fun, South Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Oakton are ranked 100th).

Westfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five contests. As for South Lakes, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
