Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Daniel

Daniel put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the West-Oak Warriors as the Daniel Lions made off with a 14-3 win. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

The team relied heavily on Lee Turnipseed, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jasean Perry was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Daniel pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for West-Oak, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, Daniel will take on Lucy Beckham in a tournament on Thursday. Daniel's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Lucy Beckham's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West-Oak, they are taking a road trip to face off against Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
