Basketball Game Preview: Solon Comets vs. Hudson Explorers

The Solon Comets will venture away from home to face off against the Hudson Explorers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Solon has given up an average of 68.4 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Solon turned things around against Twinsburg on Tuesday. They snuck past the Tigers with a 65-59 victory. Given the Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Tigers are ranked 301st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Hudson over Cuyahoga Falls in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Explorers blew past the Black Tigers 70-46. The win continues a trend for the Explorers in their matchups with the Black Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Solon, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Solon came up short against Hudson in their previous meeting back in January, falling 63-59. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
