Basketball Recap: Emery/Weiner Comes Up Short

Emery/Weiner and The Woodlands Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Emery/Weiner had to settle for second. They took a blow against The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors, falling 79-37. Emery/Weiner hasn't had much luck with The Woodlands Christian Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Ryland Glass and Jordan Gorewitz certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Glass went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and five boards, while Gorewitz posted nine points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Gorewitz a new career-high in points.

Even though they lost, Emery/Weiner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Emery/Weiner's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

As of now, neither Emery/Weiner nor The Woodlands Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
