Softball Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell lost against Brookings back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kernels took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Kernels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mitchell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Jennings, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Jennings' first of the season.

Mitchell's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Brookings, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Brookings will challenge O'Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mitchell will be paying especially close attention to the Bobcats' game: after the Bobcats face off against Roosevelt, they'll take on Mitchell again at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
