Basketball Recap: Emmetsburg Piles Up the Points Against Estherville Lincoln Central

Emmetsburg won the last time they faced Estherville Lincoln Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Emmetsburg E'Hawks breezed past the Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets to the tune of 70-38. Given the E'Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Midgets are ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emmetsburg pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Estherville Lincoln Central, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Emmetsburg is taking a road trip to take on Spirit Lake at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Spirit Lake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Emmetsburg likes a good challenge. Estherville Lincoln Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
