Softball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Southern Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ezekiel Academy). They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Southern Christian Patriots on Friday. Considering the Knights have won 21 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ezekiel Academy got a big performance out of Jillian Newell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Vick, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Ezekiel Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Christian only posted a batting average of .100.

Ezekiel Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Ezekiel Academy will square off against Evangel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lightning have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. Southern Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
